Technical Committe


1.   Concrete Hand Book Chapter Committee.

Ø  This committee was formed as per instructions of Director General, MERI, Nashik vide office order no. 5/2012.

Ø  Chief Engineer, CDO, Nashik was the chairman of the committee and Scientific Research officer, Material Testing R.L. was  the Member Secretary of  this  committee.

Ø  Committee had finalized the  three chapters as 1) Ready Mix Concrete, 2) Placement of Concrete and 3) Self Compacting Concrete.

Ø  These 3 draft chapters had been submitted to Government of Maharashtra for approval and committee had been dissolved.

Ø  Out of these three chapters, two chapters has been finalized by Government of Maharashtra. They are

PWD Handbook No. 40 Ready Mix Concrete

PWD Handbook No. 41 Placement of Concrete

              These chapters has circulated in Public Work Department and Water Resource     
                Department, Maharashtra Government.

2.    Colgrout Review Committee.

Ø This committee is constituted as per the instructions of Director General,  MERI, Nashik. vide Office Order No.3, letter No.550,dtd. 13-06-2014 of this division.

Ø CE, CDO, Nashik is the chairman of the committee and Scientific Research officer, Material Testing Referral Lab  is  the Member Secretary of  this  committee.

Ø  Uptill now four meetings of these committee are conducted by this division.

               Final Report on Colgrout construction work are submitted to Director General, MERI,
                 Nashik. Vide letter No.610 dtd. 27-06-2018 of this division.

  

3. Ferro- cements Committee.

Ø This Committee is formed vide GR of Govt. of Maharashtra, dtd. 03-01-2015.

Ø CE, CDO, Nashik is the chairman of the committee and Scientific Research officer, Material Testing Referral Lab  is  the Member Secretary of  this  committee.

Ø Uptill now six meetings of these committee are conducted by this division.

Ø At the end of sixth meeting, the final draft of ferrocement technology is prepared.

Ø This draft chapters had been submitted to Government of Maharashtra for approval vide letter no. 18 dated 29/12/2017.

Ø The said chapter on ferrocement has approved by Government of Maharashtra vide letter dated 14/6/2018 and given the permission to publish a draft.

                     It is WRD Handbook No. 01 Ferrocement Construction.

4.   B.I.S. Committee

Ø Scientific Research officer, Material Testing Referral Lab is the Member of following three committees of B.I.S., New Delhi.

Ø  Cement, Pozzolana & Cement additives Sub sectional Committee CED 2:1Under BIS New Delhi has formulate Specification Standard, named as   IS 16714:2018 Ground Granulated Blast furnace slag for use in Cement, Mortor and concrete-Specification. As Scientific Research Officer and Assistant Research Officer of this division are Principle member and Alternate member of the above committee respectively, the committee send the complimentary copy of IS 16714:2018 to this division.

  Every year, BIS New Delhi conducted the committee meetings. 

 SPECIAL WORK

1.     Testing Of Fiber Reinforced Plate (FRP).

      The agency provided 5 ton and 3 ton capacity plates. As per the  directives given by higher officials the following types of loads were  applied 
1)    Uniformly distributed load   2)    Point load at the center of the plate

2.           Dimple Chemicals & Services Pvt. Ltd., Pune has tested product   Poly  Ironite Ceramic Cementitious (PICC) for its properties at central water and power station khadakwasla,pune to assess suitability of the product in repairs and rehabilitation of hydraulic structures. Considering the properties and various applications of PICC it was used for treatment to roof slab of cabin of Scientific research Officer for water proofing.

3          Ferrocement Technology

Following Tests are carried out in this Division total 66 specimens are casted for testing i.e.  6 specimens for compressive strength of mortar, 18 specimens for compressive strength of ferrocement, 12 specimens for flexural strength test on ferrocement, 18 specimens for permeability test on ferrocement and  12 specimen for split tensile strength test.
